Welcome to our new Blog. We want you to join the conversation.
What it’s all about
The Reach Out blog is a place for you to get your thoughts out, share ideas and communicate in a real way with other members of the Reach Out community. Blog content is about topics that matters to you – current events, issues in the news or in your day to day life – as long as it’s relevant to you and the people around you, get posting!
While we’re all for freedom of speech and getting out what you really feel, keep in mind a few housekeeping rules as you prepare to speak up and add to your voice.
How to comment
Accentuate the Positive, Eliminate the Negative
o The blog is a platform for you to add your thoughts and opinions about the things that interest you. We want you to get good vibes and to share good vibes with others, through connecting and sharing thoughts and ideas.
o With some things and in the heat of the moment, there may be a tendency to get negative. Try to refrain - negative vibes are unnecessary and no fun for anyone.
Build, Don’t Break
o Choose your words nicely and post thoughtfully. Comments should assist, strengthen, help and boost - steer away from posts that just waste time and don’t get anyone anywhere.
o Give respect to blog moderators as they are here to keep things running smoothly.
o Absolutely no discrimination of any kind. We have a zero discrimination policy.
o Thinking about making money online? Think you might help others do this in the process? Please keep it to yourself, no posting of spam.
Post Honestly but Anonymously
o In general, you must keep all personal info to yourself. You need a display name but don’t use your first and last name. You shouldn’t put your phone numbers, street addresses, or any other identifying details on your comments either.
o Be honest and don’t try to mislead anyone. This blog is for honest and open discussions, not a place for insincere intentions.
No Drama Please, De-sensationalize Your Comments
o When discussing heavy political and ethical issues, there can be a tendency to hype things up and get a little dramatic. Keep it real and back up everything you can with fact. Steer away from overly sensationalized comments, outrageous claims, baseless info and hearsay.
Be Considerate
o Remember that the blog is open to everyone and it is almost guaranteed that other Reach Out users will have different views and ideas. By all means, present your arguments and thoughts and get them out there, but keep in mind not everyone will necessarily agree. Healthy debate is great. Word-wars are a bore n’ a chore.
o If you see someone acting disrespectful or stifling the free flow of opinions and perspectives, you can report that comment to the Reach Out staff immediately. We believe in safe space for all ideas and won’t allow anyone to change that.
Have Fun!
o Remember what it’s all about. Speak up, connect, learn and understand with your fellow Reach Out-ers but have a great time doing it.
Now get blogging!
